Kitoodle is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no passwords, no email addresses, no advertising, and no tracking or analytics of any kind.
That's all. We never ask for, or store, your email address, phone number, location, contacts or payment details.
List data and photos are stored with our hosting provider, Netlify (Netlify's privacy policy), and may be processed on servers inside and outside the UK/EEA under Netlify's standard data-protection terms. Your chosen colour theme and which lists you've joined are stored only on your own device. The name you enter is saved on your device too, but — as noted above — it's also stored on our servers so it can appear next to items, and in the activity, of lists you share.
If you use the optional "scan" feature to identify an item from a photo, that photo is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, purely to work out what the item is. It isn't used to identify you, it isn't used to train their models, and we don't keep it beyond returning the result to you. If you'd rather not involve a third party, simply don't use scanning — you can always type an item in or add a photo without scanning.
Each list is protected by its unique code. Anyone who has the code can view and edit that list, including any photos on it — so only share codes with people you trust, and please don't put passwords, financial details or other sensitive information on a list.
Kitoodle sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or fingerprinting. The app uses your browser's local storage solely to remember your name, theme and lists on your own device.
If this policy changes, the date above will be updated. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
